We exist to connect DC residents to classical music and to each other through meaningful concert experiences.

We live in a time where finding genuine human connection is more important than ever, and we believe there’s no better way to connect than alongside beautiful music, a glass of wine, and friends, old and new. That’s why we formed the Washington Arts Ensemble. 

Formed in 2021 by former Juilliard classmates Natalia Kazaryan and Christopher Schmitt, we strive to form a musical and social connection not only between musicians and the audience, but between each and every person attending our concerts - both during the performances themselves, and in the receptions surrounding those performances.

Whether you’re a newcomer to classical music, or a seasoned fan, all are welcome at our concerts. Our goal is to introduce classical music to those who don’t know it yet, while bringing our classical enthusiasts great works they’ve never heard before.
